Sony Ericsson has finally launched its first Android phone set – Xperia X10. Currently its commercial samples which are out as a proto-type display are using the Android 1.6, which has arguably changed the whole theme of the phone. Two weeks ago, Rikard Skogberg – product manager at Sony Ericsson, said that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will not have multi-touch capabilities. This is motivated by the program features firmware and hardware. Multi-touch facilities were also not available when Nexus One (powered by Android) was launched but it was enabled easily by a simple hack. Same thing might happen with this handset in future, this probability cannot be ruled out. During the British launch, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 company representatives said that in the second half, most likely in September, there will be a great update for Xperia X10. This announcement does ring many bell, but the first thing which comes to mind is that they have prepared Android 2.1 for their Xperia X10 Now as they have announced Multi-touch support for Xperia X10 mobiles, chances are that it would be the next big competitor of iPhone and HTC.
